Selenis, a subsidiary of the IMG Group, is a Portuguese company present in the polymer industry since 1959 and a pioneer in PET extrusion. The company has joined a strategic alliance with Entec Polymers (a Ravago Group company) to distribute its line of products in the Spanish-speaking countries in Latin American, whose representatives are in Mexico, Ecuador, Colombia, Peru, Chile and Argentina.

With this alliance, both companies will be able to offer a better service to those customers who are looking for greater efficiency, speed, punctual delivery of products, local technical support, and competitive prices in a market where there is currently great unpredictability and instability due to the existing global situation, we are all facing.

“As we are going to increase our production capacity in the coming months, it is extremely important to have efficient partners so that we are able to deliver our products as quickly and efficiently as possible, facilitating negotiations with customers who want to work with a good product, but that do not have a large purchase volume and that require buying through a local distributor. Latin America is a very demanding market, since customers and brands look for special resins for different applications, manufacturing processes, and high-quality final products, range with specific properties, which are only found in the polymers produced by Selenis.” – Leandro White (Sales – Selenis, North America)

In addition, Selenis also has a line of sustainable and ecological products, such as copolyesters, with PCR obtained through molecular recycling in its composition (ECO line) and resins with premium properties and still classified as code 1-RIC1 (CE line), which can be recycled in the same recycling chain as PET bottles.

About Magnomer

Magnomer is a startup offering patented coatings technology to help transform normally detrimental to recycling shrink sleeves into recycling preferred design. Magnomer’s Magmark SS coatings add magnetization to shrink sleeves, allowing them to be pulled out and captured during the recycling process by existing magnets. Magmark coatings are transparent and food safe, and print on using just one additional print station at the label converter. No changes to branding or design are necessary and Magmark coatings, an alternative to wash off inks, can be used on PETG or CPET films. Magmark SS has received industry recognition from the Association of Plastic Recyclers (APR) based on commercial scale trials. It has also been pre-qualified by How2Recycle for use on PETG, and can be used in compliance with U.S. Plastics Pact guidelines.
