What do you like most about working for the IMG Group, and how would you describe the company culture?
While my time at IMG group has presented its share of challenges, I can certainly appreciate certain aspects of the organizational culture. One of the standout qualities I've observed is the company's dedication to pushing the boundaries of innovation. The emphasis on constantly seeking new ideas and creative solutions has undoubtedly contributed to the company's position as a leader in the industry.
From a sustainability perspective, how have you seen the IMG Group evolve?
It's evident that IMG group is taking steps towards integrating sustainability into its operations, and I appreciate the initial strides that have been made in this direction. The commitment to reducing environmental impact and fostering a more sustainable future is commendable. I've noticed the implementation of recycling initiatives and energy-efficient practices, which are positive indicators of the company's dedication to sustainability.
What steps are you personally taking to live more sustainably?
Waste Separation and Recycling: Setting up a waste separation system at home, dividing your waste into categories such as paper, plastic, glass, and organic waste. Ensure my spouse and I are following our local recycling guidelines to maximize the effectiveness of recycling efforts.
Energy-Efficient Practices: Unplugging chargers and electronics when not in use, switching to energy-efficient LED bulbs, and etc.
Public Transportation and Carpooling: Opting for public transportation, biking, walking, or carpooling whenever possible. By reducing our reliance on personal vehicles, we can decrease carbon emissions and traffic congestion.
What is one thing you want people to know about our industry?
Plastic is not the enemy of the environment. The enemy of the environment is all of us when we fail to reuse, recycle, fail to do selective garbage collection, discard our garbage in the wrong places and make irresponsible and exacerbated use of products that are not from renewable sources.
Great initiatives are being taken by the chemical and plastic industries to recycle and reuse plastic more effectively and efficiently, such as chemical recycling. Although we can already see excellent results, it is still necessary for the population to become aware of the importance of recycling!
Within the past 2 years, you have moved to the new Charlotte office. How has this experience been for you?
Two years ago, my spouse and I embarked on a life-changing journey, leaving São Paulo (Brazil) for Charlotte, NC (USA). This transition introduced us to a warm and welcoming community, a more relaxed pace of life, and the beauty of adapting to a new climate. Our shared experiences in navigating this change have not only deepened our connection but have also enriched our lives in ways we could have never anticipated.
