What has been the most difficult challenge you have faced during your career at Selenis, and how did you overcome it?

The topic of sustainability has gained increasing importance in our industry. The challenge is that the healthcare industry is risk-averse by nature, and new solutions need to undergo a thorough and lengthy assessment process. The Selenis Healthcare Team is engaging the value chain with excellent technical service and regulatory support to bring new, innovative solutions to the customers while maximizing patient safety and customer satisfaction.

As Head of Selcare, how do you think Selenis’ medical grades, Selcare, can help customers from a sustainability perspective?

Medical grade polyesters have a great fit-for-use in many medical applications. They enable longer lifetimes of products with an excellent performance-cost ratio. By adding chemically- recycled content (certified by Recyclass) or mass balance credits (certified by ISCC+), we offer an even more sustainable alternative to other materials. This is good for the planet without compromising on patient safety, performance, or regulatory standards.

What would you like to see Selenis/Selcare achieve within the next 5 years?

I would love to see further growth of our business in strategic regions like APAC and further expansion of our product portfolio to better address the customer needs around the globe. We will need more team members that are excited to grow the business with us. We have exciting news to share soon, so stay tuned!

What do you think Selenis’ competitive advantage is?

Selenis, as part of the IMG Group, benefits from the vertical integration with Renascis, Renewis and Evertis. But even though the IMG Group is a large global player, it is family- run and Selenis benefits from this. Decisions are taken efficiently and effectively. We can adapt to changes in the market quickly. Our customer-centric flexibility and speed is appreciated by our customers.

As you have taken on the position Head of Selcare, how do you think Selenis/Selcare can grow in these markets?

A common theme across most applications is sustainability. There is a broader unmet need for innovative, sustainable solutions and Selenis is well positioned to address this for the mutual benefit of our customers and stakeholders.
