As a new member of the Selenis team, what impact would you like to have on the company?
I will be happy if I can contribute to the success of the Selenis team by helping the business in the US grow. Hopefully my experience and efforts can be useful in the development of new and improved products and sustainable solutions, serving the unique needs of the specialty polyesters customers and marketplace.
As an expert in our industry, what is something you want people to know about it?
I find the Selenis culture to be a vibrant and exciting mixture of polymers experience and curiosity. Too often, us “industry veterans” find ourselves in the “been there, done that, doesn’t work” category. The young and energetic team at Selenis will not accept this answer and continues to challenge the status quo.
From a sustainability perspective, how would you like to see Selenis evolve within the next couple of years?
The plastics industry is at a crossroads. PET is one of the most widely used and versatile plastics, and it already has a strong sustainability story and recycling stream. We need to go further. The “low hanging fruit” is being harvested. Too often, our specialty polyester customers find themselves at the back of the line when it comes to sustainable solutions. We need to change this and serve our customers and their applications with innovative solutions.
As the sales manager in North America, how do you think Selenis can best meet the needs of customers in the US, Mexico, and Canada?
In order to best meet the customers’ needs, we need to listen to them. We must offer a better solution for their needs than they have today.
What do you think Selenis’ competitive advantage is?
Our people, specialty assets, and our strong sustainability and social responsibility focus. As long as we, as a team, continue to stay innovative in our thinking and foster strong customer relationships, we can make a positive contribution to the marketplace and society.
